Toodles for now.
I thought that if anyone was going to rock the 20's glam look it was going to be our Nicole, but she's surprised me with this playful colourful look. Something we rarely see from her! I love this quiffed ponytail, it looks super polished and well put together and the fuscia lip colour suits her pale complexion. I've also noticed a trend back to natural, thicker eyebrows which Nicole has always stayed true to...
Cara Delevingne really knows how to pose for a picture! Obviously - she's a model - but I think she looks amazing here. Again the hair is lightly waved and the lipstick is strong and red - total 1920's. Her eyebrows, however, look almost completely un-tweezed/threaded, which is what we're seeing much more of. I think it totally suits the boho looks we're seeing in fashion with light make-up and messy hair. She pulls it off at this event, but it's just on the cusp of looking messy - if your lip and eye make-up is so strong and neat, your eyebrows should be slightly polished too.
I love LOVE Marion Cottilard's first look at Cannes. Everyone who knows me knows how much of a bun fan I am! They're timeless and so versatile - messy, polished, super-sized or braided - a bun will never let you down. Marion's matte lip stain and basic eye make-up finish off this look perfecty and her strapless neckline and bun-combo give her an almost regal look.
I was recently introduced to Lana Del Rey's music by a lovely client of mine (Thanks Carla!). Since then I've become quite the devotee! Her music is timeless and she sounds old and wise beyond her years in her music. Here at the opening ceremony to Cannes she looked just stunning. I love her lower winged eyeliner - it's rare to see (the 'flick' coming from the lower liner not the top) but such a stunning look when done well. The 20's waved hairstyle is perfect - I can't work out if she's actually cut her hair or if this style is a faux-bob and just tucked under. Either way, the hair and make-up compliment her face shape perfectly, and I just lover her even more now!
I'll update you all with my thoughts on the looks as the days go on. So far I have to say, I haven't seen any disasters at all! Let's see if the whole event can go off without a single hair and make-up disaster. Famous last words eh?...
