I'm always on the lookout for new products to add to my ever growing skin-care arsenal. I've suffered from acne for the longest time and while a diet change (cutting out meat and dairy products) has seriously cleared up my skin, I still find the need for a good deep cleanse and moisture treatment every now and then. So when I was given some Montagne Jeunesse face masks to try out I was intrigued, and got straight to it. |
The brand name and packaging is one you will have seen on the shelves of most supermarkets and pharmacies here in the UAE. They have these super cute sachets with delicious looking face masks images on them. And the names of the masks are positively mouth-watering; Dragon Fruit Sauna, Strawberry Souffle and White Chocolate Masque. It sounds like an amazing dessert. Added to that - they're all cruelty free and made from completely natural ingredients *Yeay!*
"All Montagne Jeunesse products are bursting with natural ingredients, goodness and are as eco-friendly as possible. Montagne Jeunesse are vegetarian and animals are our friends - that's why we don't bash bunnies or add bits of animals."
Each mask or treatment has an explanation of what it does and what skin type it would be best for. After perusing the selection of masks I decided to go for the 'Nut Oil Masque' which claimed to 'Deep cleanse, nourish and hydrate'. Sounded perfect!

The instructions on the back are pretty clear: Cleanse, Apply, Relax and Rinse. So that's exactly what I did :)
After a thorough cleansing (threw in a little exfoliating for good measure), I dabbed my face dry and ripped open the sachet. I started applying the mask to my face and was instantly overwhelmed with the most DELICIOUS smell ever! It smells sooooooo good. Sweet and vanillery and just amazing. I took a closer look at the back of the sachet and there is actually a warning that, although the ingredients are all natural, you're not to eat the mask! I totally get why they put the warning!

All masked up, I settled in front of the TV to watch some Modern Family and wait the 20 minutes 'Relax' time in the instructions. The mask I chose is from the 'mud' category so it dries and hardens - no more smiling for me (or the ability to finish my cup of tea without drooling all down my shirt!)
When 20 minutes was up, I rinsed the mask off and patted my face dry. My skin felt fresh and soft and just lovely! It felt super cleansed (squeaky clean in fact) but not tight and uncomfortable as I've found many masks (especially those for acne-prone skin) make me feel. I added a little extra moisturiser for good measure and my skin-care routine was complete.
Next week I'm gonna try another one and see how it feels. I've got a feeling I'm going to implement these masks into my skin-care routine if this first one is anything to go by. Well priced, easy to use and all-natural, these masks look like the way forward for me!
Check out Montagne Jeunesse's website for details of all of their fantastic products. What's better still, is that they have a line of products for men with manly rugby players all masked up on their images too! So get your fella's involved too and be masked up together!
Toodles for now.
