When I heard about a new facial craze; the Yon-Ka facial, that the celebrities at this year's Cannes Film Festival were lining up for, I was intrigued to say the least! Researching the Yon-Ka brand I found that it's whole ethos is based upon phyto-aromatic care; that is providing your skin with the most precious part of plants with all their luscious solar energy and precious active vitamins and peptides. Upon a search on Beawel of salon's that offer the service I found Queens Beauty Lounge in JLT offered the full range of Yon-Ka facials as well as the line of products for sale, so I booked myself in...
Le Grand Classique focuses on Yon-Ka's exclusive deep cleansing regimen in 5 successive steps. Each step is carried out in the oxygenating atmosphere of the 5 quintessential oils at the heart of all Yon-Ka treatments, namely; Lavender, Geranium, Rosemary, Cypress and Thyme. If you look up those herbs you'll find they each have a fantastic calming/cleansing/soothing property for skin.
The facial starts with a cleansing and inhaling some essential oils which smelled lovely. A warm mist full of essential oil is also used - it felt lovely but I found the smell a little too strong for my personal preference. There was lots of lovely warm compresses and, after a deep cleanse of my pores and a plant-based soft-gel peel, I was treated to a shoulder head and neck massage that was just divine. After my time was up I was eager to see how my face looked as I have very sensitive skin and go bright red after most facial treatments. |
I was pleasantly surprised to find that my skin was calm and not at all inflamed - meaning I could avoid the embarrassing walk back to my car! Before leaving the salon I was handed some samples of the after care products that you should use to prolong the benefits of the facial including a serum and creme. The Hydra No1 contains hyaluronic acid which is the ultimate product in skin rejuvenating. |
All in all I was happy with the results of the facial, it was really soothing and my skin was soft and hydrated at the end. If you're wanting an extremely deep clean this might not be the treatment for you but with a good range of facial and body treatments you're sure to find a Yon-Ka treatment that is for you. I really do love that all the products are plant based and was really impressed on my research of the brand. I also really liked the Hydra No.1 serum and fluid and will be making a purchase of these to add to my daily skincare routine.
